Jerold “Action” Jackson is an American author, public speaker, and radio personality.
After graduating from Michigan State University with a B.A. in telecommunications, Jackson spent the next four decades in radio, working his way up from a board operator to eventually having his radio show. Over his broadcasting career, Jackson has interviewed some of the biggest names in music, including Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Kanye West, Rick James, Drake, TLC, Prince, and Jennifer Lopez. He has also worked with some of the largest radio stations in America, such as WHYT Detroit, WENN Birmingham, The Big DM in South Carolina, and spent an eleven-year tenure at Urban Powerhouse KMJK in Kansas City. Jackson later achieved his honorary doctorate. Today, Jackson hosts a top-rated show on KNEK AM/FM, a station just outside New Orleans in Lafayette, Louisiana. Currently, he serves as Program Director for Cumulus Media’s #1 Ranked KNEK AM/FM and KRRQ-FM.
As an entrepreneur, Jackson co-owns a marketing and publishing company. In 2011, Jackson founded Infinite Blue Ocean with business partner Steve Welter, an organization focused on success coaching and business mentorship.
Jackson is an active public speaker and philanthropist, booking up to 20 engagements a year and often speaking at significant events such as the Primerica Conference. Jackson regularly volunteers and partners with charitable groups like Susan G. Komen Foundation, Boys and Girls Club of America, and Surviving the Odds. In 1994 he hosted a 24-hour live on-air fundraiser and raised $19,000 for CASA, an organization devoted to domestic violence victims. The press frequently features Jackson as an ambassador for his community and a recognized name in his industry in magazines such as Deluxe magazine, Radio, and Records magazine, All Access online magazine, The Kansas City Star, and the Flint Journal.
Jackson has written four books and three Audiobooks on Audible including, “In the Zone, A Masterplan For Living Your Best Life” and “Why He Won’t Commit to You.” Jackson has a thriving weekly positive Podcast, “Zone of Action,” available on most platforms.
